Literature Text
Your eyes are filled with fake stars,
To hide your heart,
Mangled as it is with scars.
Your smile is filled with joy,
But you're an actor,
You haven't truly smiled since you were a boy.
Your life is like a sequence of horrible dreams,
They say you'll go far,
But your mind is ripping at the seams.
Then suddenly she appears,
An angel broken,
Older than her sixteen years.
She hides behind no mask,
Her pain flows freely,
And in her honesty you bask.
If her presence is soothing when she's hostile,
You wonder what it would be like,
To feel the presence of her smile.
And suddenly you have a mission,
You'll make her laugh just once,
Because if love is real; she's the definition.
And in front of only her you drop your cloak,
She sees your pain,
And somehow fixes what was broke.
But she's still lost in agony,
Refuses to trust,
In danger of losing her sanity.
At times it seems an impossible feat,
But slowly you wrap around her trampled heart,
And fight harder when she retreats.
You won't let her have her way,
Till she learns that she is worth your love,
And for her lonely heart you pray.
To hide your heart,
Mangled as it is with scars.

The Note
A note left
Upon his pillow
Holding whispered remorse.
Crisply folded,
Neatly tucked away
With a shadow of rain.
Shaking handwriting
Melting with diamonds
That fall from my eyes.
Filled with love,
Filled with hate,
Filled with me.
The note lies,
Waiting to be opened
By his shaking hands.
Goodbye.

The Rose
She hugs her rough skin,
As her auburn hair cascades,
Like Blood,
Around her face.
She is the romance found
In a forbidden embrace,
A fairytale ending in a
Fatal finger prick.
She has died many times
At the cruelty of other women's hands,
But she is not defenseless,
Underneath her blushing beauty,
She hides deceit and betrayal,
For every curious man.

Red vs Blue
Blue was once a lovely colour,
wrapped around your heart in silken
veins that choked you dead.
It washed out of your eyes,
dangling on the edge of thorns,
and was the colour on the walls
of the room in which you
wandered, lonely as a cloud.
But here again you stand,
one year later living.
I see your heartbeat red now,
murdering the blue,
and passionately
splattering
your bedroom walls with old
and tired veins.
Caressing now your heart,
red is fighting off the blue,
burning off rough silk
to put in place warm wool.
Casting off your darkened halo,
once a noose
and then a choker
for nostalgia's air,
red is made of you

Wrote this last night, I'm actually really proud of it.
I couldn't decide on a last line though and eventually just chose the idea I had originally come up with, but I might change it if I come up with something better.
The title doesn't really have that much to do with the poem but I like it.
